We have a new Sponsor: Hope Veterinary Care!

hope vetHope Veterinary Care is now an official sponsor of Chase the Rainbow Hopkins Hill Color Run/Walk!  They join Dave’s Market and Navigant Credit Union.

We are still looking for sponsors. Sponsorship allows a local business to get their name out there and support a great cause. It also means that with more sponsorship money, more of the registration fee from participants goes directly to what the PTA refers to as the playground fund; really it is the money we plan to use to fix the outdoor space. You can find more information about sponsorship on the side bar link titled: Want to Sponsor our Run?

We will also have some great raffle basket items. More about that coming up soon!

Thank you to Dave’s Market & Navigant Credit Union!

A tremendous THANK YOU to Dave’s Marketplace and Navigant Credit Union for sponsoring Chase the Rainbow!

We have also received raffle basket donations from Bounce U, Rock Spot, the RISD Museum, Crystal Cleaners, and Cellucci’s Martial Arts.

We are still looking for sponsors. Our goal is for local sponsors to pay for the cost of the color (in exchange for their name on the t-shirt!),  so that the $15 registration fee per participant can be put directly towards revitalizing the outdoor space at Hopkins Hill.

If you know of a business interested in supporting our cause, please have them contact Karen Haskell at

We are looking for Sponsors!

raffle businessesA big thank you to all the businesses and organizations supporting our run! Raffle Baskets are coming along. Besides the traditional baskets, we have had donations of tickets and gift cards from: the PawSox, Mystic Aquarium, Borrelli’s, Newport Preservation Society (Newport Mansions), and the Natural History Museum in Providence, as well as a monetary donation from Sewphisticated. Please be sure to thank these businesses!

We are still in of need sponsors. The Color Run Committee is looking to raise $5000 in sponsorship money so that participant fees are profit. We currently have $1000 towards that goal. If you or a company you know is interested in sponsoring, please let us know. The sponsorship letter is on our website (sidebar), or you can contact PTA Playground Chair: Karen Haskell at or PTA President Marisa Eisner at

Chase the Rainbow

Remember the thrill of getting the swing higher up than you ever imagined? Or the first time you conquered the monkey bars? Playgrounds are part of the fabric of our community, and an important part of the school day. Families in Coventry come to the Hopkins Hill School playground for a fun interactive play experience.

Our current playground, built over 15 years ago, was financed by the PTA. As much as we love the playground, we are aware that the structures are old. We are also aware that much of the land on the side of the school is in disrepair and children are unable to use this space due to the deterioration of the land caused by the sand that blows from the dunes.

The town and the school department have begun repairing the damage by putting up a protective fence and laying down soil so grass can grow.  That is a good start, but we have a long way to go.  And we need your help! We are hosting a community Color Run on April 29, 2018.  This event will raise much needed funds to provide new updated and accessible playground equipment, build an outdoor classroom, and have a functional field where students can run, have free play, and organize games in a safe space.
